I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at WeWork in Jun 2021
Interview
I applied to WeWork and received a call from an internal recruiter about 3 weeks after. I applied for a position in my home city but was told they only has position open was in another city about 40 minutes north. I didn't let this get in the way of continuing our conversation.
The recruiter was very impressed with my experience and kept reassuring me on how much of a perfect fit I was for the position. Naturally, this boosted my confidence in landing a job with WeWork but I knew to not be overly confident. I scheduled a virtual interview with an area manager for later that week.
The interviewer was pleasant and answered all of my questions. I felt that based off our conversation I would certainly qualify for a 3rd interview.
3 weeks went by without any updates although I had reached out to the recruiter and his colleague a handful of times asking for updates. I was professional, showed an eagerness but was not pushy. Not once did I get a reply.
On the 4th week I received a generic email stating that they had received my application and decided to not move forward. This is the kind of email you get when a company has zero interest in you, not when you you have interviewed a couple times.
Overall, I was extremely disappointed with the experience and the severe lack of communication from the team. It is a terrible way to treat people and the lack of consideration made me realize that this treatment is probably prevalent in their internal communications. I will not be considering WeWork in the future should I be looking for a new opportunity and hope that you the reader not have the same terrible experience I had.
