Red flags from the get go. A very long, 4-stage interview with final stage with the hiring manager + HO. Interviewers were really cold from the beginning, they were asking questions from a tick list, barely looked at the screen, and were beyond uninterested when given the opportunity to answer their mundane questions. The call cut out after 30 minutes, although the call was scheduled for an hour and interviewers failed to call back or apologise for losing connection. It was evident at the time, the interview wasn’t successful at this stage but they could have at least remain professional. I’d hate to even think that my ethnicity was a contribution to their poor attitudes, but it genuinely really made me feel that way considering they were icy from the get go. Overall terrible, demotivating experience. Approach with caution, unless you fancy getting your confidence knocked.

While I had a positive experience with the internal recruiter who was organised and communicative, the interviews with the hiring team were poor. The content, questions and attendees of each interview weren’t as advised. Many questions felt like free consulting in disguise about live business problems. After the interviews, I saw they used one of my ideas for free. I wasn’t given the opportunity to share the presentation I was asked to prepare. At times, the interviewers were hostile and seemed more interested in gaining competitor insights from my previous employers than me as a candidate. The goalposts also shifted constantly. Each interview, what was required of the role changed. They spent a lot of time on questions about skills and market knowledge that contradicted what the recruiter briefed me on and weren’t in the job description. I was asked increasingly impossible questions on how I would achieve large goals, that most companies would put significant resource behind, by myself with no resource or budget. Overall confusing and very disappointing.
