      Digital Content Manager Interview

      14 Aug 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Wise in Jul 2024

      Interview

My interview process began with an initial screening call with a representative in recruitment. It was a friendly and informative call going through the standard details of my previous work history. The recruiter explained the next stage of the process would involve a take home task and then there would be two further interviews following that. I was sent the take home task which was to prepare a draft social media campaign plan for Wise. The expectation of the candidates spending 3-4 hours on this task was outlined. Upon submitting my task I waited almost two weeks for a response, which was a generic ‘We’ve decided to proceed with candidates with more relevant experience to the role’ with no acknowledgement or feedback on the work submitted. My experience was very clear from my CV and screening call, so this process is a very obvious (and highly immoral!) strategy to generate more ideas for their social media strategy, for free, from applicants. I queried the lack of feedback provided on the work I had done, considering the amount of time spent on the task and actively asked if I could please have some, to aid me in my job search, only to be ghosted by the recruiter. Such a disappointing experience and shows a clear lack of company morals. This is not a strategy that will work long-term as more and more applicants have the same experience and converse within the industry. My advice to those in the marketing industry would be to avoid applying for roles at Wise and my advise to Wise would be DO BETTER!
