      Vice President Sales Interview

      16 May 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Fairfax, VA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Xerox (Fairfax, VA)

      Interview

Interviewed with the Xerox Services Group (formerly ACS). The interview process for an organization of this size and reputation was shockingly disappointing. The experience left both the candidate and the executive search firm dumbfounded. They didn't seem very "buttoned-up" when it came to managing the process of hiring. I was presented to one of the hiring managers (matrix'd reporting structure without a designated lead for the process) and interviewed. No feedback given to the candidate or the executive search firm. I was asked to interview with the 5 business line leads. All interviews went very well. No feedback provided. Candidate interviewed with the President of the group (the other hiring manager). She had not received any feedback on the previous 6 interviews except that I was the finalist and she was to meet and interview me. That interview went very well and I was presented as the finalist to the Corporate SVP responsible for the division. No feedback provided. Verbal offer was extended, salary and benefits were negotiated as well as start date. My interview with the CSVP went very well and the offer was to be presented in writing. The CEO of the Services group announced his retirement and this seemed to catch everyone by surprise. This is the number two guy reporting to the CEO of Xerox. Was there no succession planning done in advance of the announcement? Based on the news, the verbal offer was rescinded and the position was not to going to be filled until a new leader of the Services business was in place. Wow! This is a Fortune 100 company. They need some serious help with managing their hiring process if they hope to gain "A Players" to drive the top line.

      Vice President of Sales Interview

      31 Aug 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Washington, DC
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Xerox (Washington, DC) in Jan 2013

      Interview

fast and furious. contacted by recruiter on a Friday, and whisked off to offices on Monday. Met three people, including hiring manager, VP or HR and MD. The whole process was hurried and incredibly lacking in discipline and structure. I was out of there in less than 2 hours.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Very typical "tell me about yourself and your background" type questions. I can't think of one that actually stood out as a serious interview question
