Application

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at commercetools (Durham, NC (US)) in September 2016.

Interview

The overall process was efficient. After submitting my resume I was contacted within a week for a phone screen. A few days later I was asked to come in for an in-person interview. The team was very friendly and open. The process was great. No complaints. You could certainly feel that the team cares about their company and culture.

Applied via LinkedIn, had a quick phone conversation with the recruiter Meredith Miller, then was brought in for an in-person interview with the recruiter, the person currently holding the role I applied for, and the president of the company.

After submitting an online application, I had one phone screening with the commercetools recruiter, a video interview with a developer, and then an onsite panel interview. This all happened in just 1-2 weeks and they were very straightforward about my performance and what they were looking for throughout!

Commercetools were professional, friendly and efficient during every interaction. They provided feedback promptly and each step in the process moved quickly and smoothly. I felt like they were genuinly interested in getting to know me and had studied my C.V ahead of the conversations. Defininately one of the better interview experiences I have had.

Started with a Google Hangout chat with Support Engineer and Manager. Was given a Skills test the next day. After that, was invited to on-site interview where there was a panel of Engineers and Managers. After that, had a 1 on 1 interview with Practice Manager.

Interview

The first contact was via email. They asked me 3 questions: when could I start, if I needed a visa and salary expectations. Then, they asked me to either have a Hangout call (video conference) or a phone call. As it was the first call and it was with a recruiter, I was not expecting technical questions, but there were. The recruiter told me that the second step would be to talk directly with the manager. Then, the last step would be to solve a case study (such as an incident to see how I approach a reported problem). However, I did not arrive to these last steps.
