I applied online. I interviewed at eBay in Jan 2026

      Interview

Worst interview i've had in my ten years in the industry, First started with a normal hr screening, passed that, first coding exercise is where the issues started, the interviewer was not prepared for the interview and spent 10 minutes trying to open my CV, 10 minutes i didnt get back for an hour long interview Then when we moved on to the coding question it was a simple inheritance method question, however the interviewer rushed me along very rudely before i could read the whole code and interrupted my reading constantly, most of the time raising his voice I solved it correctly and he took 10 more minutes trying to find issues in my solution by stress testing it, which gave no results In the second question it becomes weirder: when i was talking about the data structures ive used in modern c++, he was very sarcastic and obnoxious using deragotary phrases like "oh so you know maps too, woow" where i think he was fed up with the process already and gave me no context for the question and just told me to let him know Admittedly i didnt use the most optimised solution but the question code was so obfuscated and written in obscure c++ practices used to fail college students, He interrupted the question halfway since there was no time left and proceeded to tell me how "you seem to not know these issues well", where i had to respond "yes i write my code so it's readable and has no undefined behaviours". Then more ridicule and trying to teach me about "real life"

      Interview

The interview process consists of three phases, beginning with an initial screening stage. This is followed by the second phase, which involves three consecutive interviews conducted back-to-back, focusing respectively on system design concepts, proficiency in C++, and knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
