Auckland Transport Operations Centre (ATOC) is a joint venture between Auckland Transport and NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi, which works behind the scenes to help keep people and freight moving and to help ensure anyone who uses our transport network has a safe and efficient journey.
The Event Planning team is responsible for leading the planning and delivery of ATOC's response to a diverse range of events and activities, which includes temporary traffic management and other transport solutions.

The key purpose of our highly valued Event Coordinator is to support ATOC's planning for a diverse range of events and activities, mitigating the impact of activities on our transport network, with an intention of improving customer outcomes at the very heart of our response.
The work will be varied, and you will be responsible for a range of tasks including development of operational plans, administration, finance support, and reporting. You will have the opportunity to assist with the planning for a range of events and activities including major sporting fixtures, concerts, protests, and significant weather events
Due to the nature of this role, you must have the ability to be flexible with hours and days of work. You will need to be able to work evenings, public holidays and weekends as required.

To be successful in this role you will bring:
Appointment base salary is from $63,000 - $70,000 per annum (with KiwiSaver employer contribution of 3.5% on top of base salary).

Based at Smales Farm ATOC is a 24/7 operation responsible for real-time monitoring of the network for both planned and unplanned events, ensuring the right responses are made in a timely manner to deliver safe journeys for our customers. Additionally, this centre is the eyes and ears of the urban and highway One Network, monitoring a total of over 11,000km of state highways, alongside the Wellington Transport Operation Centre (WTOC).
