Independent power company InterGen is really into the power generating business. As an international producer of electricity, InterGen has interests in 12 power plant projects, including a wind farm, two gas compression plants and one 65 km natural gas pipeline. The company has 7,686 MW of installed generating capacity (more than 6,101 MW net equity) in Australia, Mexico and the UK. All told, the company has developed more than 20 power plants (more than 16,000 MW of capacity) on six continents during the last 20 years. InterGen provides fuel procurement and project management, financing, and negotiation services. The power generated from its plants is sold to utilities, energy marketers, and end-use customers.
