    Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Intercom (San Francisco, CA (US)) in September 2015.

    Interview

    1. Brief phone screen chat about background
    2. Mini-coding challenge
    3. On-site interview

The on-site interview was unique because it was an all-day coding challenge after lunch which resulted in a demo-ed presentation to the team.

The coding challenge included working on a partially working system with minimal requirements. Engineers on the team would pair program to help deal with challenges and offer solutions (to simulate aid and distraction in a real-life work environment). The coding challenge was web-based and had several starter kit languages that could be chosen.
