Description Don't get in the way of RAM Energy Resources when it charges into oil and gas fields. The independent exploration and production company operates primarily in the Permian Basin, the Barnett Shale, the onshore Gulf Coast region, and in the Mid-Continent. In 2010 RAM Energy reported proved reserves of 24 million barrels of oil equivalent. The Jefferies Group, through subsidiary Jefferies & Company, owns about 17% of RAM. The company is selling off assets to pay down debt. It sold its North Texas Barnett Shale and Boonsville properties to private oil company Milagro Exploration for $43 million in 2010, and agreed to sell a majority interest in the Electra/Burkburnett field in Texas to Argent Energy Trust in 2011.
