Mission: Make Commerce Better For Everyone.
I have been working at Shopify full-time
It's a huge company with plenty of opportunities, but despite the size, it still feels like a startup and has that same buzz. Management is great, and I'm able to self-manage with minimal micromanagement from my supervisor. The other people on my team are great to work with as well. The company also has a strong remote culture - unlike other companies where I've worked, I don't feel undervalued as a remote employee.
10/10, would recommend.
It's a huge company with a ton going on, so it's easy to feel like you're out of the loop or not making a big impact. Compensation also seems a bit low.
Advice to Management
Keep killing it :)
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Shopify in September 2017.
I have spoken to 3 different recruiters on 3 occasions in last one year. They never get back with a response after the "Life Story" call. I understand if they don't want proceed with the interview for some reason, but they should learn to say no. It is never a good idea to leave a candidate high and dry. When you put in so much time and effort to apply, the least you expect is pro active communication leading to full closure of the process.
I hope they improve the process.
