Description TurboChef Technologies wants to make fast food even faster. The company makes high-speed proprietary ovens that use a microprocessor to distribute heat evenly and offer cooking speeds up to 12 times faster than a conventional oven. The ovens are sold mainly in the US under the TurboChef name, primarily to fast-food and traditional restaurants, convenience stores, and hotels. Major customers include foodservice companies (Subway, Starbucks), hotels (Hilton), grocery and convenience stores (Whole Foods, 7-Eleven), and movie theaters (Loews), among others. TurboChef speed-cook oven models include the C3, Tornado 2, and High h Batch 2. Commercial foodservice equipment giant Middleby acquired TurboChef in 2009.
