Pros

The people are good at the end of the day, but we were all honestly just learning how to make things happen. I have many fond memories, and I'm still friends with a few people here. When the company collapsed and laid off everyone, the CEO did his best to work with anyone who reached out to him to make sure we get our unemployment checks, since there were some issues with Florida's Reemployment process. For my first 3.5 years or so, the CEO preferred a more horizontal approach to leadership, in that he wanted his employees to feel comfortable starting chats and convos with him despite the rank gap, which made the workplace feel more human and real.

Cons

Due to the startup nature of indie development, job safety wasn't as secure, but tbh a lot of this could be due to the insane death our industry is suffering. That aside, I just know I clashed a lot with the heads of the company due to incompatibilities in design philosophy, which I believe may stem from how tech/programming-heavy the company was (as I was the only artist for most of my tenure).
