    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook

I worked at 7 for All Mankind full-time for more than a year

    Pros

As a design department, you will have great support from cross functional teams like PD, Merchandising and Tech Design. Benefits like 401K, medical, and other insurances are good. If you are a designer early in their career, this is a good place to learn how a corporate structure works and to understand the process a garment takes to get from design to production. You will become accustomed to working on programs like Excel and Adobe Indesign, that you may not be accustomed to from a fashion design background but will be good tools to learn.

    Cons

Do not be expected to design or be included in most design choices if you enter as an Associate or an Assistant. Much of the design work is consolidated to the senior level. Workload can be overwhelming at times with the amount of styles you will have to work on. The company is in the process of downsizing and any remaining associates or assistants will need to take on the task of two or three people, especially in design. Direction and instruction from upper management is lacking and there are dire issues with communication. Discrepancies and miscommunication on design intent or meaning is common. Don't expect growth opportunities either.

I have been working at 7 for All Mankind full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Work closely with product. Meet great contacts from major retailers such as Nordstrom, Saks, Neiman's, Bloomingdale's, etc.. Small team so a lot of face to face interactions and opportunities to show yourself.

    Cons

Because it is such a small team, it can be hard to move up unless there are people that leave and there is an open spot.

Corporate is very out of touch with the retail side of things
