I have been working at Achmea full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good secondary benefits. Good work/life balance. Working from home one day in the week is standard. Informal organization.

    Cons

A company that is the merged result from thousands companies and leads to quite some inefficiencies and corporate cannibalism. Quite myopic organization. Lot of external project managers; no clear business and performance targets. Commute is undoable from the Randstad (urban Holland).

    Advice to Management

    Pros

The company has good workplaces and is creative with the new way of working. I worked with professional colleagues in a motivating company.

    Cons

There is too less cooperation between all the divisions and different labels in the company. Working together and better alignment between projects, should be very efficient.

    Positive Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Achmea full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - lot's of data and lot's of challenges - interesting environment for people loving transactional data - openness of the organization to work with open-link data or external data - plenty of different tooling (SAS, HANA, Lumira, R) which is good especially for young people to gain experience

    Cons

    - infrastructure is still under development and a big change from classical datawarehouse towards in memory database is taking place at the moment. - sometimes frustrating to see wrong choices being made without any chance to influence them - not advisable for senior people since the internal structures are too static - there is no expert career path

    Advice to Management

If you want senior people to work in Achmea you must provide them a chance to grow in the organization. Stepping over towards a data driven organization also means to get people who understand data involved in the design of the new structures.
