Pros

Remote work, so your boss can only yell at you through a screen and not in person.

Cons

--Petty, insecure bosses who will surprise you with an hour of berating, criticizing everything from how you look (no, I'm not joking) to your intelligence, demeanor, and the way you sound when speaking; --Shifting goal posts on performance designed to make you feel insecure about yourself and the value you create for the company; --Suffering through constant criticism every time you violate an unspoken rule (i.e. even though they ask for direct feedback, any feedback you give that isn't effusive praise for managers and bosses results in disciplinary action against you; asking for more benefits or salary due to change in work responsibility--even in the most professional, polished manner--is viewed as a slap in the face to the firm); --Toxic workplace culture that encourages employees to lie about, undercut, and generally tattletale on each other; --The "push for diversity" there is a joke, as anyone can see that Affinity's highest turnover is with People of Color, and their current number of non-white employees is a single digit percentage; --Exactly 0 opportunity for growth within the firm.

I am sorry to hear that you had a negative experience working with our company. Your feedback is important to us, and we take all reviews seriously, even if they are negative. First and foremost, I want to address the concerns you raised about our management team. We have a zero-tolerance policy for any form of harassment or belittlement, and we are committed to ensuring that our employees are treated with respect and professionalism. I would personally love to hear more about your experience - and we will take appropriate action to address any issues that are identified. Regarding your comments about shifting goalposts, we strive to provide clear and consistent performance expectations for all of our employees. We understand that changes can happen, and we do our best to communicate any adjustments as soon as possible. If you feel that you were not given clear expectations or that our goals were not reasonable, we would appreciate any specific feedback you can provide to help us improve our processes. We value diversity and inclusion in our workplace, and we are committed to creating a culture that is welcoming and supportive of all employees. However, your numbers are incorrect. As of today, 15% of our team is non-white, and another 7% of our team is diverse in other ways. We continue to focus on diversity because we know we can do better. Finally, I am sorry to hear that you did not feel that there were opportunities for growth within our company. It is a big challenge for small companies, but we are committed to providing our team members with opportunities for professional development and growth, and we will continue to look for ways to support our team members in their career aspirations. Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your experience. We are committed to continuously improving and ensuring that all of our employees feel valued and supported. I would love the opportunity to discuss these issues further with you offline. Please feel free to reach out to me directly. Sincerely, Debbie Foster, CEO Affinity Consulting Group

Pros

Remote work, nice people outside of leadership.

Cons

The company operates like a cult, with the Managing Partner at the center. If only Leadership spent as much time on actually fostering a healthy, supportive, and productive environment as they do pretending they care, it would be a very different place. Gaslighting, manipulation, and mediocrity are the norms here.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and concerns about your experience at Affinity. I appreciate your honesty and willingness to provide feedback. As CEO, it's important to me that every employee feels valued, supported, and heard. Your comment about the environment we are fostering is concerning, and I want to make sure we are doing everything we can to create a healthy and productive environment for our team. I would love the opportunity to meet with you to discuss your concerns in more detail, so I can better understand how we can improve. If you are not comfortable with that, I would love for you to meet with your team lead, or our Director of HR to discuss this important feedback. I want to assure you that your feedback will be taken seriously. Thank you again for your feedback. I look forward to learning more, and hopefully the opportunity to work together to make our company a better place for all employees. Debbie Foster, CEO Affinity Consulting Group

Pros

Low expectations, if you consider that a pro.

Cons

Insecure and toxic "girls' club" on the leadership team can't handle any feedback. The only people who get ahead are personal friends and a**-kissers. New employees who don't immediately drink the kool-aid are pushed out. Health benefits for a family are so expensive that no one actually uses them.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We take all feedback seriously, both positive and negative, and we want to address your concerns. We are sorry to hear that you felt the work environment was insecure and toxic. We take pride in fostering a positive and inclusive work culture where all team members feel valued and respected. We take all reports of toxic behavior seriously and encourage employees to speak up if they feel uncomfortable or witness inappropriate behavior. Regarding your comments about how people get ahead at Affinity, we believe in promoting based on merit and performance, not personal relationships. Our leaders, whether promoted from within or hired from the outside, are chosen because of their skills and experience, and willingness to work alongside our other leaders to make Affinity a great workplace and deliver excellent services to our clients. We are currently working on rolling out a training plan for our leaders to make them even more effective and give them the tools they need to lead an ever-changing workforce. Regarding your concerns about health benefits being too expensive, I agree with you 100%. I take the time each year to personally assess our benefits package and to make sure that we are making the right choices for our employees. I take into consideration the actual benefits each person will receive compared to what they currently have and the associated costs to Affinity and to the team member. We pay about 85% of the cost of employee coverage, and despite the fact that premiums have gone up every year in as long as I can remember, we have not raised the cost of what our employees pay at all – Affinity has absorbed all the individual increases. I am not sure where you got the impression that no one uses our family benefits - many of our team members cover their partners and/or children. I wish I had an answer for how to make health care in our country more affordable, but I don’t. In any event, we are committed to providing competitive benefits packages and are regularly adding things that are valuable to our team members to make the package even more valuable. Thank you again for providing your feedback, and I would be 100% open to an offline conversation to talk more about your experience and how we can do better. Please reach out to me directly if you are open to that. Best of luck to you in your future endeavors! Debbie Foster, CEO Affinity Consulting Group
