Pros

Low expectations, if you consider that a pro.

Cons

Insecure and toxic "girls' club" on the leadership team can't handle any feedback. The only people who get ahead are personal friends and a**-kissers. New employees who don't immediately drink the kool-aid are pushed out. Health benefits for a family are so expensive that no one actually uses them.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We take all feedback seriously, both positive and negative, and we want to address your concerns. We are sorry to hear that you felt the work environment was insecure and toxic. We take pride in fostering a positive and inclusive work culture where all team members feel valued and respected. We take all reports of toxic behavior seriously and encourage employees to speak up if they feel uncomfortable or witness inappropriate behavior. Regarding your comments about how people get ahead at Affinity, we believe in promoting based on merit and performance, not personal relationships. Our leaders, whether promoted from within or hired from the outside, are chosen because of their skills and experience, and willingness to work alongside our other leaders to make Affinity a great workplace and deliver excellent services to our clients. We are currently working on rolling out a training plan for our leaders to make them even more effective and give them the tools they need to lead an ever-changing workforce. Regarding your concerns about health benefits being too expensive, I agree with you 100%. I take the time each year to personally assess our benefits package and to make sure that we are making the right choices for our employees. I take into consideration the actual benefits each person will receive compared to what they currently have and the associated costs to Affinity and to the team member. We pay about 85% of the cost of employee coverage, and despite the fact that premiums have gone up every year in as long as I can remember, we have not raised the cost of what our employees pay at all – Affinity has absorbed all the individual increases. I am not sure where you got the impression that no one uses our family benefits - many of our team members cover their partners and/or children. I wish I had an answer for how to make health care in our country more affordable, but I don’t. In any event, we are committed to providing competitive benefits packages and are regularly adding things that are valuable to our team members to make the package even more valuable. Thank you again for providing your feedback, and I would be 100% open to an offline conversation to talk more about your experience and how we can do better. Please reach out to me directly if you are open to that. Best of luck to you in your future endeavors! Debbie Foster, CEO Affinity Consulting Group

Pros

I joined Affinity Consulting Group just over 90 days ago, and I can genuinely say this is one of the best companies I’ve ever worked for. While I came from a similar industry, there was still a learning curve, and like any new role, the first few weeks were a bit of information overload. But the support and encouragement from the team made all the difference. The culture here is something truly special. Even though we are a fully remote company with employees spread across the country, leadership goes above and beyond to make sure everyone feels included, supported, and part of the team. It’s clear that they genuinely believe that happy employees create better outcomes for clients—and they back that up with action, not just words. The people are hands-down one of the best parts of working here. From my manager to my teammates, to the leadership team and cross-functional colleagues, everyone has been incredibly kind, supportive, and willing to help. There’s a real sense of collaboration without ego. During my 90-day review, I even told my manager: “This job has shown me just how unhappy I was in my previous role… and I didn’t even realize it until now.”

Cons

Honestly, very few. Like any job with specialized software and consulting work, there’s a learning curve if you’re coming from an adjacent field—but that’s expected. And everyone here is happy to help you ramp up.

Thank you for taking the time to write this. It means a great deal to hear that your first 90 days have been such a positive experience. There is always a learning curve in consulting and specialized software, and we try to be honest about that. What matters most is that you felt supported while ramping up. No one succeeds here alone, and I am proud of how our team shows up for one another. I also appreciate your comments about our culture. Being fully remote requires intention. Inclusion, collaboration, and connection only happen when people make the effort, and our team does that every day. Your reflection during your 90 day review is exactly why we focus so much on building the right environment. When people feel valued and supported, they do their best work. Thank you for being part of Affinity and for helping us continue to raise the bar. Debbie Foster, CEO
