Pros

- Bastion are great at hiring people, most are lovely and it's a fun staff environment to be around when not working. - Location of the office is easy to get to and in a vibrant area.

Cons

- You will not have a work life balance and there is such a strong expectation that you work well into the night (Because GAD's/AD's are doing so - Even whilst they receive bonuses and you receive nothing additional). - You are sold the dream and then reality hits in your first week. - Turnover is high, which therefore means you're often receiving another colleague's client and workload on top of your existing work. - Company incentives such as 'happy days' are not so 'happy' and don't even make up for the amount of overtime you work. - Zero HR department which means all HR matters go directly to your management line and CEO. No care for employee mental health. - Little to no onboarding. It's a 'Here is your client, do what you need to do' onboarding approach. - Every staff member is over capacity with their work load, and to capitalize on revenue, Bastion staff are given additional client workloads/scopes instead of hiring more staff. Know what you are getting into when you join this organization.

The Worst Place I Have Ever Worked

Pros

Bastion RM is very professional and put together it is the only part of the Collective worth working for. Any other part of the Collective don't do it!

Cons

Bastion Effect is a very inefficient company that does not offer its employees any support. They expect long hours and seem to thrive on drama. Teamwork is not in their vocabulary and everything down to their offerings is lip service. The highest turn-over in the business. Bastion EBA will work all employees to the bone. Since switching leadership this has only gotten worse. They create beautiful work at a high cost to employees. The 2nd highest turnover. Bastion Collective does a lot of buying and selling of businesses. Any business is expendable just like their employees. HR does very little for employee wellness and their interests are focused on the bottom line of the business.

Pros

A few wonderful people working there, and Friday arvo drinks

Cons

The separate businesses within the Collective aren't cohesive whatsoever, in fact, they can be quite cliquey and competitive. Work culture is terrible; employees are over-worked and under-compensated unless they're upper management. There is essentially zero HR; staff turnover is high, and redundancies are made left, right and centre without the blink of an eye. Employees are seen as dispensable and employee feedback is taken into zero consideration. An entire business was made redundant in a single day without warning. Another colleague was made redundant through a meeting that was scheduled 1 hour prior with the title *Client* WIP, so she was completely blindsided, her visa was cancelled and she had to leave the country. There are countless stories like this. During my short time there, I must have seen over 60 staff members disappear. I'm now in a new company and cannot express how appreciative I am to be there. I've already been promoted and given a pay rise, and am flourishing in my career. We're paid fairly, receive training and support, have full transparency and clear communication from the wider business, and actually live up to our values.
