Pros

A nice work location and some lovely people.

Cons

Workload is unmanageable and stressful, they pretend they care and then expect more. Pay does not reflect skills required to complete the job. Bonus is good but there’s always a threat you won’t get it. The office is quiet as people are discouraged from talking openly and those that do talk or express honest concerns are quickly labelled as negative. Despite the recent pandemic they have a hot desking system so daily desk cleaning and crawling on the floor to set your computer up is required. Progression opportunities are for their favourites or those that have worked there a long time. These staff can also take full advantage of flexible working and go to appointments, the gym, get their haircut, work a 4 day week whilst others are refused the same option to do so. Staff turnover is very high for a company of that size. The company values enforce expected behaviour's. Staff are expected to speak only positively about the company and leave positive reviews on platforms like this. People that dare speak up and raise any concerns soon leave.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re deeply saddened that you’ve felt this way about your experience at Beyondly and are grateful for the feedback provided. We believe that our hotdesking set up encourages our open and collaborative culture and allows staff to interact with others outside of their usual teams. Following staff feedback, we have implemented desk cleaning stations and installed plugs at each desk to make setting up workstations easier. Role vacancies arise through a business need or employee movement, and are advertised internally and/or externally for any employee to apply for. As with any recruitment drive, the candidate best suited for the role, through their skills, development and experience, is appointed. We encourage employees to be proactive in their personal development and everyone has the opportunity to discuss career aspirations and development plans during quarterly 1-1s and every effort is made to facilitate and support individual development activities, in alignment with the resource needs. Our flexible working initiative is available to all employees that have been with the company for 3 months or more, allowing everyone the same opportunity to take longer lunchbreaks, or an earlier finish/ later start with a view to then work the time back when best suits them. Any permanent flexible working requests are considered based on the needs of the department and the potential impact (both positive and negative) that a change in working pattern for any individual within that team would bring. We believe that our values drive our business purpose and vision, to create a better, fairer, sustainable world for all and encourage employees to act with trust, commitment, respect, passion and innovation in all they do at Beyondly. The company values are our employee competencies, which helps with building our culture and ensures that everyone understands what is expected of them in their role and approach. We welcome any feedback, whether positive or constructive and are keen to hear more about your experience and how we can improve. If you’d like to share, please email us at HR@beyond.ly.

Avoid - High turnover of staff

Pros

Majority of the staff are lovely.

Cons

The culture is suffocating and isolating, you are not allowed to have a bad day if you do and mention anything negative you are accused of affecting the mood of the team! The reason there are so many jobs available is that nobody stays ! It’s not the amazing place they shout so much about . If your face fits you’re fine if not then you don’t stand a chance.

Pros

Beautiful location. Business for good. Some flexibile working initiatives.

Cons

Poor leadership. Lack of business focus or direction. Favouritism and poor management. Slow decision making. High workloads with minimal support. Low base pay with up to 40% of salary wrapped up in bi-annual bonuses which take focus away from own job role and skill set. Toxic positivity. High staff turnover (you would expect lower than national average turnover rate from a company who apparently treats staff so well!). Poor treatment of staff with poor mental health, or neurodiverse people. Lacking inclusivity- very slim mould of person fits in with the "in crowd" making it difficult to do well if you don't fit in. Flexible working arrangements agreed for favourites more than others. Senior leadership are significantly lacking in knowledge of the industry, putting pressure on those below them to carry entire service areas with little reward or credit given. If you try to speak up you are silenced - if you won't stay silent you are managed out of the business under the guise of "not adhering to company values".

We strive to create a supportive and inclusive environment where all employees feel valued and heard, holding weekly drop-in sessions with our Talent & Culture team and quarterly surveys for employees to provide their anonymous feedback on our initiatives, management team and working environment. All employees all partake in annual Review & Strategy days with the opportunity to influence the future direction of the business, with Senior Management Team meeting minutes being visible throughout the business for all to review. As a Real Living Wage certified employer, we are committed to paying our team fairly with a wage that covers the true cost of living.
