Pros

You are left to your own devices. You can plod along very happily and not really get noticed. Perks are nice

Cons

Asked not to drink the "nice" coffee. Location is pretty poor on a sleepy little trading estate with nothing around for lunch. Over-privileged middle-management. More people in management than actual workers. Openly admitted pay gaps for Northern Ireland teams. "we employ here because it is cheap" Training is non-existant. Too many Directors confusing their roles and pulling the company in different directions, when the MD has the overall say. More interested in the next acquisition than fixing the problems internally.

Pros

Good tech, opportunity to learn Co workers are great Some okay benefits Experience can be gained fast if you don’t mind getting dropped in the fire and can run before you crawl

Cons

Management don’t care about their staff or their opinions. Suggestions for changes are disregarded or scoffed at. Too many managers with oversized egos and personalities. No clear direction as managers or directors like to change things at the drop of a hat and don’t communicate it until it’s too late but they will still pat themselves on the back. Overtime is expected and not rewarded unless “pre agreed” which most of the time is impossible because there is too much work and not enough people so you’re forced to work overtime and you won’t be thanked. Mistakes will be held against you and interesting or new work denied because of said mistakes but they won’t do anything to help you prevent them in the future. Salary reviews are few and far between. Difficult to get a raise despite the initial pay not reflecting the volume of work. Pay gaps between people in the same team for the same work are ludicrous, sometimes 10k+. If you bring this up you will be shot down. Archaic thinking - working from home or flexi time before the pandemic was utterly denied and never considered. They will pay for exams but not for courses. You have to spend your life doing work if you want to progress.

Pros

Equipment provided is decent spec

Cons

Terrible place to work. They struggle to support even the simple issues. Everything takes 10 times longer to do as their helpdesk structure is convoluted. Stress put on the staff is unfair while the management do very little other than lecture.
