Pros

Pay is salary. You don't work more than 40 hours a week. Diverse daily work. Manage your own schedule.

Cons

Management needs work. High turnover rate. Not enough raises or opportunities for growth. No incentives for performance improvement. I don't feel that the company actually promotes or encourages their employees to be or live sustainably. Which is strange considering it's a Sustainability department.

Pros

Great learning environment Diverse tasks (you make your own work) Make good local government connections Networking opportunities Insight on how landfills work Flexible with PTO Great and helpful coworkers Leading the technology on anaerobic digesters

Cons

Management willing to hear you out but not do anything about it Unwilling to reprimand incompetent workers that bring the team down Poor communication with other departments No room to move upwards Raises are so minimal, your pay eventually levels with the people they hire after you You get ONE “bonus” and it’s money for a thanksgiving turkey and it’s taxed No compensation for anything. If you make a system or training guide that cuts down people’s work significantly, you’ll get a pat on the back and an email shout out
