Pros

You are not jobless. Being in a job and earning some money is the only pro I can see here.

Cons

A lot of micromanagement specifically in the AI & Data Sciences team. No challenging work and relatively very less than industry standards. Standard processes are not followed leading to clumsy work. Sprints are not properly planned and you can't voice your honest opinion on it. Unrealistic targets and no empathy.

Pros

lots of free time, nothing much to do, nobody cares about the work you can negotiate your way to a higher salary since nobody wants to join them in the job market Proof of fake reviews: Just sort the reviews by date, there was a negative review in the last week of Aug, to cover that 3 fake positive reviews came up all on 1st sep, and one on 2nd sep, so that positive reviews come on top :) Very Clever, and so desperate !!

Cons

Bad upper management : CEO is good, but the team surrounding him are just his handpicked friends from IITK, nobody knows anything, nobody does anything. Its only the guys at lower level who slog all night No learning: I can safely say whatever I learnt was in the 1st year, and zero learning after that. Seniors/team leads are too busy fudging PPTs and numbers (yes we do that) to lead or guide you. Its a total joke, which will leave you without skills required for a new job once you exits Short sighted decisions: they just fired CTO, VP Prof services and CFO, who all were veterans with 20 yrs experience and were bought with much fanfare 2 years back. They also opened USA business two years back with a lot of celebration, but have closed it now. Now they have opened China business, lets see how long it works. This shows immaturity in taking decisions.

Pros

I head the team for Smart Store and Data Sciences and it is a challenge every day for me. We have problems from all the verticals - Transactions, Campaigns, Vision, Audio and we are trying to generate value for our customers every day. We have matured over time and AI is being used in personalization, recommendations, instore intelligence and insights. I have seen the team grow from a few to a big group with a lot of focus on building products aligned with Retail using AI. There is a lot of focus on automation and intelligence which is very required today. We build and use cutting edge technologies in Deep Learning (Vision/Audio), Data Sciences Algorithms to Integration with Campaigns, Ecommerce (API layer) for enabling AI in all of our product portfolio. It takes a lot of patience and perseverance to build products from algorithms and I sincerely thank the leaders for understanding that and being aligned with that. We hire a lot of interns, 6 months, and they do a fabulous job as well. There is a good amount of publishing and patenting focus in the pipeline. We have moved from no issue tracking apart from those on github to plan quarterly things and track and manage even DS/Exploratory products on JIRA with a >85% completion rate. And all this with a lot of focus on people's inputs, independence and growth. We have grown as a small startup to a slightly bigger one in the last few years and things have been incredible. We have learnt a lot along the way.

Cons

I do not see Cons as of now. Maybe we should publish and patent a bit more than we are doing today. We should market better.
