Leadership leaves much to be desired. CICF touts itself as wanting to dismantle racism but is one of the biggest perpetuators I have ever seen. Allowing staff to make blatant racist remarks to staff of color, doing nothing with multiple HR complaints, and the current CEO saying she doesn't want to hear any more "whining" from people who were willing to speak up about how they were being mistreated in the workplace. Leadership told many entry and mid level staff they don't promote people within a year and don't expect that, while promoting a mid-level employee to the executive team within 7 months of her being there...and she's white. Optics are not great and huge pay inequities are running rampant. The work itself is heavy so save yourself the frustration and heartache from wanting to do good work but being bogged down by horrible office politics and lies.

While they claim to be "doing the work" and pride themselves on being a pillar of dismantling systemic racism, this was the most racist work environment I have ever been a part of. From pay inequity, to employee intimidation, to blatant vocal racists going unpunished, CICF uses the guise of being antiracist as a way to make money and see themselves as morally superior. While I am glad philanthropic dollars are going to the community, CICF is not the force for good they claim to be.
