Pros

The immediate team I worked with was absolutely lovely. There were/are a lot of great folks at Clearbit. Benefits were great, but honestly largely because the leadership was really immature. They were looking at cutting things before Covid hit.

Cons

Almost the entirety of the leadership team is your stereotypical Silicon Valley privileged white straight white male. The company suffers from a severe case of Founder's Syndrome, and it's toxic from the top down. Things I saw & overheard at my time there: several of the leadership team discussing their weekend ayahuasca retreat in the hills, drugs in the office, a complete disrespect for women (including the CEO saying he didn't want to share a restroom with women, and another "exec" who enjoyed playing devil's advocate when issues of inclusion and diversity were raised). They talk a GREAT talk about being open to feedback. They are NOT. An employee was literally bit in the face by another employee's dog, and the CEO refused to allow HR to develop and enforce an office dog policy. He just wants to play in a company he built with his friends, rake in $$, and throw lavish parties. As another person said - they laid off a ton of folks when Covid started. Granted, that can't necessarily be helped... except for a company that was at best 1/4 NOT straight white men, almost everyone they laid off was a parent (I think to save $ on paying dependent health insurance), a woman, a person of color, or otherwise from an underrepresented group.

Clearbit's best days are behind it

Pros

Good pay, good benefits, and a great team of people who work on the front lines building the product and servicing clients. The products are cool but are not the best out there. Fully remote work place as well.

Cons

Clearbit has gone through two phases of layoffs since 2020. It seems that the company cannot go without laying people off when there is a hint of macroeconomic downturn. Clearbit has had a really hard time getting funding (only 1 round of funding since the company was founded 8 years ago) so financially they're trying the best they can to "do it on their own", per se, which is really tough for a company of this size and in a competitive industry. The products are neither the best or the cheapest in the industry, so it's really hard to say what sets Clearbit apart from giant competitors. There are some areas where Clearbit wins, but it is not enough to keep clients. Clearbit is essentially a jack of all trades and master of none in the industry. Clearbit is seen more as a "nice to have" product for many clients vs a "must have" partner, which led to a lot of issues when clients were cutting budges last year. 2022 was an atrocious year for the company where growth came to a halt and the percentage of clients renewing was abysmal vs targets. The culture at Clearbit is also terrible. If you prefer to have no relationship with anyone at work besides of your boss, this is the place for you. Clearbit hasn't had any in-person get togethers since before the pandemic. Most people at Clearbit haven't met any of their coworkers in person. The people who work here are great, it just would have been nice to meet anybody in person and form a relationship with someone that wasn't via video chat. If/when Clearbit starts hiring again and you're considering joining, be cautions and know that if the economy takes a turn for the worse, your job at Clearbit would definitely be at risk.

Pros

Good benefits, unlimited PTO, Remote

Cons

Upper management does not care about the BDRs at all. Quota is always set so high that it is unobtainable. No clear path to career development. Extremely micromanaged environment. Just overall toxic, would not recommend.
