Pros

Flexible PTO, getting to read lots of screenplays and work directly with up and coming writers, having a pulse on what was happening in the industry

Cons

Low pay, problematic workplace culture, retaliation if something was reported, lack of diversity in leadership/decision making roles, lack of accountability for upper management, constantly changing expectations and goal posts, consistently giving employees higher levels of responsibility without a raise or title improvement.

Flexible Gig Job

Recommend

Business outlook

Pros

The position is flexible and able to be done entirely remotely. Has made me a better writer as I've spent more and more time reviewing other people's writing.

Cons

Sometimes compensation feels a bit lowball, and it's pretty easy to bite off more than you can chew in terms of taking on too many coverages. If you're not able to schedule, pace, or otherwise regulate yourself, this might not be the place for you.

Poor Incentives / Pay

Pros

Flexible, some good scripts, occasional wins for writers.

Cons

Many more bad scripts than not, you are paid based off of writer reviews which skews accuracy of coverage, and really poor pay.
