I worked at CryoLife full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

CryoLife fosters an environment where you are rewarded for hard-work, good decisions, and open-mindedness. Mistakes will be accepted, but not the same mistakes repeated.

The company has grown extremely fast and steady in the last 4 years under the guidance of Pat Mackin (CEO), as evident in its stock price and market cap reaching and then exceeding $1B in April.

Different levels of employees will have different experiences and satisfaction levels.

CryoLife has growing pains as any company that is successfully growing its business through great acquisitions.

If you want a challenge that will advance your career, give CryoLife a try.

    Cons

CryoLife still has issues to resolve in its structure. There are still silos that are slow to come down, but they are getting their. Expect to work long hours.

    Advice to Management

Don't forget your employees as your most important assets.

I have been working at CryoLife full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

In my opinion, the people at CryoLife are the best asset! Overall, CryoLife passionate about what the company does (making products that save lives), and they are quick to help their co-workers and their community with a cause.

    Cons

Many changes (which will lead to a better future) mean growing pains for today's employees. Doing more with less has been a theme for a few years now, and it can be stressful and wear on you.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your team leaders and employees who are in the day-to-day trenches as you develop realistic strategies for continued growth and for moving forward.

I worked at CryoLife full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The only reason to really stay here is because of the competitive pay.

    Cons

Although the pay is competitive, you get treated like dirt. Management only cares about numbers and does not care about the morale within the team. They pick and choose who they like, and if you aren't one of the chosen ones, they will make your life miserable. HR is an absolute joke who have no idea about what is going on or how to fix something if you go to them. If you have a problem with your paycheck, good luck on getting it fixed. Unless you are management, you get treated like trash.

    Advice to Management

Get managers who actually know what they are doing and put them through Management training. Train HR on how to properly deal with HR matters. Actually care about your teams, your team is what ultimately drives the company.

I have been working at CryoLife full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

CryoLife has been around for over 30 years. This is a "pro" because it shows that the company is intent on being stable and has projected plans on how to serve people by improving and possibly saving lives of patients needing specialized cardiac care.

As a company, CryoLife strives to keep talented employees and encourages innovation all while maintaining a watchful eye on regulations and other compliance needs to ensure public safety.

Working at CryoLife is very often referred to as having a family atmosphere where quite a few employees have worked together for many years, yet new employees are easily welcomed into the organization.

    Cons

CryoLife has been around for over 30 years. This is also a "con" because companies can be entrenched in "this is how we have always done it." There is, at minimum, a three-pronged approach to update how CryoLife does business. First, all employees, including management, are involved in process improvement. Second, they are also ensuring that the company has effective and innovative products to offer doctors to help treat their cardiac patients. Third and this is very important, everyone, including the CEO, takes improving employee engagement as a critical part of further elevating CryoLife as a leader in the biotech industry. CryoLife is aware that a company is as strong as is employees and is dedicated to providing resources to help to strengthen its employees.

    Advice to Management

Stay on top of what you have started until you have reached a critical mass in mindset so that the breakthrough into the next level for CryoLife will be guaranteed to happen and guaranteed to stick. The new paradigm has already started and will continue to happen with management's continued dedication.

    Pros

Culture and morale has improved massively over the last few years.

    Cons

HR is a disaster. Was much better 5 years ago. Have had several pretty large scale layoffs in the last few years after change of CEO and acquisitions.
