Pros

good salary some teams have remote opportunities joining kit and remote setup is provided

Cons

I worked at Cyderes for just over a year, and it was the worst professional experience of my career. The management is obsessed with micromanaging every little task, you're tracked on every email, every meeting minute, and god forbid you take a 5-minute break and your manager calls you are doomed. No autonomy, no trust, just constant hovering from supervisors who treat you like a child. Hiring is a joke too, they bring people on board in droves during "growth phases," promise the world, then fire at the drop of a hat when projects slow down. I've seen entire teams axed overnight with zero warning or severance. Job security? Non-existent. It's a revolving door of talented people burning out and leaving. If you're looking for stability or a healthy work environment, run the other way. Cyderes is toxic for your career and mental health.

Pros

Technical Independence: Opportunity to work on deep-dive research and malware analysis with minimal hand-holding. Research Focus: The role allows for significant time dedicated to exploring new threats and technical domains. Remote Flexibility

Cons

Ineffective Leadership: Management is frequently "away from desk" or cancels scheduled meetings, making it impossible to get timely feedback or support. Unclear Expectations: Work goals are kept vague (e.g., "just do research"), yet the path to publishing or finalizing work is consistently bottlenecked by leadership. Credit Misattribution: There is a recurring issue where management attempts to take ownership of work produced by subordinates during high-level discussions. Exclusionary Culture: A visible "inner circle" exists where favoritism often based on regional background rather than performance dictates who gets praised in front of senior management. Fragile Management Ego: Leadership is resistant to any dissenting opinions ("No") and often prioritizes "looking knowledgeable" over actual technical accuracy or team collaboration.
