Long hours, wierd customers and not real

DP is a little too big for its britches and doesn't seem to know what it wants to be. Middle managers tend to be more knowledgeable about their respective departments, but regularly clash with the dinosaurs in the C-suite, making progress slow or nonexistent. DP wants to be a tech-savvy innovation leader, but many of their practices are old school at best. I worked on the marketing team, which was often at odds with the sales team (despite the fact that we have the same goals). Marketing was often dismissed as a fluffy, do-nothing department and we routinely had to prove our value to the old guard. It made it difficult to do meaningful or interesting work; we were trapped in the same old patterns and traditions that were comfortable for the decision-makers. Some longtime DP employees are treated as golden calves and face no consequences despite being difficult to work with or ignoring best practices and policies. It is demoralizing to see such a double standard.
