Pros

Benefits are very good. AARP does great work for the 50+ community. There are a number of employees who are completely dedicated to the mission and work very hard.

Cons

Career growth opportunites limited to those who have connections. A lot of work silos as well as duplicate work. Rampant and unchecked favortism in work groups. If you come in at a job level that you are happy with, it's fine. But forget about trying to move up the ranks.

Pros

I was able to take on multiple responsibilities, like research and volunteer engagement, with consideration of my time and workload from school.

Cons

At times, I felt like my work wasn’t as important or could’ve been done by my supervisors, especially when projects were close to completion, they would be altered but I understand it was for time efficiency.
