At the Jacksonville Florida CMC (monitoring center) where I worked, there is a very bad and toxic culture of discrimination.
People are discouraged from doing their job, both by management and by the other employees, who will see you as being a "Narc" if you so much as work a full day without fooling around like a child.
In fact, management not only turns a blind eye to lazy, unproductive and rude employees, they protect them from being disciplined, at the expense of hard working and sensible employees.
At ADT, I faced racial discrimination due to my English accent, which enraged the bad employees. I also had the audacity to be white and male, something that I was constantly receiving rude/hateful comments and even threats of violence for. When I addressed this with management, I was accused of being a "trouble maker" and management fired me for sending an email demanding an apology.
Management did everything they could to look the other way, and ended up firing the one guy who:
- Had great attendance
- Worked hard for every customer
- Went the extra mile in every situation
- Unbelievably good skills at the job
so that they could make room for some more rotating door employees to come in and screw up customer's security accounts left right and center.
