Pros

Nothing good can come out of this company.

Cons

Worst owners/CEOs. One of the owners(They are married to each other.) is coming from Chinese culture, and every aspect of work at ASC is affected by Chinese culture in very negative ways. Too nosy about personal life, very stingy and obnoxiously hierarchical work environment acting as if she's your own mother. I've worked at several summer camps and English camps, but they are the worst supervisors. No structure to classes or what so ever. They treat their employees like trash if not less than that. Most of the students attending at ASC are coming from Chinese families and some parents are hard to deal with, too. Some of them talk down on you and yell at you just like one of the owner. I feel traumatized by my experience at ASC and I seriously have nightmares still at some nights. Their first, foremost, and primary goal at ASC is 'keep the lady owner happy'. So if you can handle all of these, then you now may apply for whatever position you want. Wish you luck.

Pros

Decent pay and decent scheduling

Cons

- Zero oversight or interest in management over teacher growth or classroom issues. - Molecular curriculum (a textbook and a pile of files from previous teachers without any guidance, or interest). - Beyond a list of DESE goals for teachers to have students meet, zero managerial oversight into classroom instruction. - Frequently mismatched students to levels (I was told verbatim that sometimes students were moved up simply because "they've been here for too long" . - Zero standards for student classroom behavior (it was suggested to me that I ought to play scrabble with students when my class began to refuse to engage with the lesson or materials prepared for class. This was also what their sub had been doing with them protractedly before I arrived as a day to day employee)

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience at ASC did not meet your expectations. We take concerns about teacher support, student placement, classroom expectations, and communication seriously. Adult ESL programs can be complex, with changing enrollment, varied student needs, and evolving staffing demands, but instructors should still feel heard, supported, and treated professionally. We also understand the frustration that can result when expectations around future opportunities do not align with program needs as they develop over time. Clear communication in those situations is important. We appreciate your feedback and will take it seriously as we continue working to strengthen the experience of both our teachers and students. We would also welcome the opportunity to hear additional feedback directly.
