Pros

Majority of the people who worked at Access sites were very friendly and hardworking. Benefits were decent.

Cons

The training for positions were zero to none. Majority of the people were overworked and underpaid. The Corporate Office HR dept. was the worse and had the worse attitudes and were very rude to a lot of employees. They would literally ignore you if you came and stood into their office.

Pros

I was surrounded by equally passionate individuals about community-based research and health. I felt supported in my role if I had questions or needed help. If I stayed in the position longer, I would have been able to grow into more advanced roles. The pay was strong for an entry-level position with bonuses available throughout the year.

Cons

Research projects were led by universities, such as Northwestern or the University of Chicago. Oftentimes, the research teams from these universities never stepped foot into the health centers and used Access FQHCs for diverse study populations. Unfortunately, without being part of the research at health centers, these teams were unaware of the work being done by Access-employed research and clinic staff.

Pros

Decent management and advocacy. Good insurance

Cons

Really low pay for clinicians. Questionable money management by org.
