Pros

Somehow managed to recruit/trick smart amazing employees

Cons

Worked at ADURO? Pick one or more interview red flags... 1) "Are you ready to take on extra tasks?" 2) "We are still trying to figure out the role" 3) We are a wellness company but "our team thrives on pressure" 4) "We need someone who can wear many hats" 5) :Let's start with lower pay with room for growth" 6) "We don't watch the clock here and unlimited PTO but..." 7) "We're like a family here" 8) "This is a lifestyle commitment. You'll need to be available at all times" Umm... insane right? Worse... bad management, blew through all their investment money, don't care about the employees... just a kool aid slurpey machine. About as fake as it gets.

Pros

My salary was reasonable and it felt good creating wellness products. Some smart folks floated through while I was there.

Cons

They blew 22M in funding. And they were beholden to a money hungry private equity group as part of that deal. The org is so focused on sales quantity and not on software quality. It’s an old old story for cash strapped companies. The wellness market is an interesting space, but they are missing opportunities by not listening better. This company is owned by a husband and wife team, in my experience that leads to all sorts of nepotism and boundary issues. Be wary of companies and teams that have numerous families working there, it’s a huge pain. When the wife is the head of HR/People, your going to have a strange workplace where its difficult to vocalize employee challenges.
