Pros

The best part about working for either Aerotek or Aston Carter is that the training and professional development is parallel to none other. They also have the highest base salary for the role in the industry.

Cons

Where to start haha. I guess my first comments here would be that the commission structure is a joke. They use the salary as leverage to completely remove you from earning commission. Id much rather take less in my base and make it up in my work, especially since the difference in salaries in the industry is only about 5-10k. The biggest take away from this review is that anyone entertaining the idea to work for this company BE AWARE. It is nothing like it seems. Ive never met a group of faker individuals that don’t live by there own guiding principles. You can work as hard as you can and still be edged out by someone who was literally handed success. The phrase work smarter not harder is fitting, they hand pick who they like to be in management, then they will change the credentials in the database to give said individual money or “spread” that wasn’t earned. They especially like to fire employees and then hand all of there earnings to another that they have selected as next for a promotion. It almost pays to be second best here because if your the top earner in your triangle, your account manager will retain you rather then promote you. Then when you happen to suffer from attrition, they just line you up to be fired. I watched individuals that had no business being promoted get a new title in management, and i watched some of the best workers i have ever met be blocked or manipulated. They use your own goals against you, they promise you things that they have no intention of fulfilling, the play favorites amongst employees, and the director doesn’t even have the stones to fire employees himself. This office has a turn over of recruiters every 6-8 months and has had 3 different directors of operations in less then two years. As my cons may seem to be out of order and all over the place, its because i can only leave you with one piece of meaningful advice and that would be to never work here if you want to have a healthy lifestyle. There are many more ways to be successful in life then by working 12-15 hours work days for ungrateful people that only stress you out to the point that you find yourself losing value in your personal or family life.

Pros

Great people, great training, great entry level opportunity to get into recruiting and sales. If you are successful you will make more here than about anywhere else. Performing Recruiters are making $55k-$75k. Great Recruiters are making $100k+. Every large office has salespeople making $200k-$400k. Culture is 100% committed and generally cool type-A's you would want to have a beer with. The skills, drive, and sense of urgency you learn at Aerotek serve you well anywhere you may go later.

Cons

If you are just looking for a low-commitment 8-5 job while posting on social media about where you are partying that night...you will not like Aerotek. Success requires an all in approach both in work ethic and active support of the culture. That is not for everyone. There are Political Science grads 3 years out of college making $200k+, but there is a price to be paid. All the tough work comes first. If you are not up for the level of work and commitment, Aerotek is not for you. If you are, none of this is really a "con" As far a real cons go, the benefits are only OK, and finding work/life balance is pretty difficult.
