I wouldn't be still here if it was as bad as people claim. No, I'm not from HR! - Claims Officer Allianz Partners Employee Review

Pros

Health Insurance. Car Insurance/ Taxsaver travel ticket. Pension. On-site massages, health and wellbeing talks. Flexible hours. Length of service bonus at 4 and 6 years. January bonuses. Work from home. I’ve worked for a number of different team leaders, under various supervisors so have a wide scope to review. My current team leader is incredibly supportive and my manager is friendly and approachable. The company today is unrecognisable from what it was a few years ago, thanks to the new CEO. Change takes time but most people don’t seem to realise this. Claims officer is an unskilled role, requiring no previous experience and no degree. This role is paid extremely well for what you do and the wage increases dramatically over the first 5 years. If you are unhappy with the wage for this level of work, you should move on to another role, as the company encourages us to do. What some reviews here refer to as ‘only getting promoted if you’re friends with managers’ actually means making a good impression on your superiors, putting yourself out there by volunteering to help with extra tasks, and going above and beyond your assigned role. That is how to get promoted. Just expecting it to be handed to you because you turn up and hit your targets will not get you ahead. I’ve witnessed the bullying of a colleague. It can and does happen in all companies. In this instance the bully was dealt with and no longer works at the company. Result! According to other Glassdoor reviews only Irish people get promoted. Surprising considering of all the team leaders in claims who have progressed from officer level, there are more non-Irish than Irish. Likewise I can name multiple non-Irish staff who have moved on from the claims department to various other roles around company. I know of a lot less Irish staff who have progressed as fast. Please don’t let emotions cloud the facts. This is a great entry level role. If you're willing to work hard, you will do well.

Cons

Stagnant teams. A lot of staff have been in these roles for a number of years and appear to have gotten bored. As a result they bad mouth the role to new starters before they can form their own opinion which is quite sad. Negative colleagues. The level of whining is incredible. Even when our Christmas party was announced this year there was so much moaning (and a low level of attendance) because instead of an unlimited free bar we were going to be having free wine with dinner instead. Can you believe that?? The company didn’t pay for us all to get blackout drunk!!!! What a disgrace. Different departments are ran differently. Some floors have a great atmosphere with a lot of team activities and laughter, while others are deathly silent. It can be very uncomfortable to work on the floors where managers like silence, it destroys morale.

Pros

Great people, great office, hybrid work model.

Cons

Office can feel empty on the in-office days mostly because the building is so massive and there just aren't enough people there to make it feel right.
