Okay company, but more useful as a stepping stone. - Unarmed Security Officer Allied Universal Employee Review

Pros

Weekly pay Decent pay rate inside large cities

Cons

Terrible pay rate outside large cities Zero help from office or site management if you actually want to advance. Definitely more useful as a stepping stone into an actual career other than security and only valuable to retired individuals who already get retirement benefits or kids looking for a second job to earn a little extra. Do not stay in this line of work, with ANY security company, if you want good pay. The ONLY way you'll get decent pay in security is if you have a degree in business management, pursue and pay for your own licensing in a state that allows such, like Texas, or start your own security company and get just good enough to be bought by Allied or Securitas.

Pros

Some of the people you meet are cool and you make real good connections with the professional guards (not a lot, but i got lucky)

Cons

*Management doesn't answer their phones *Management don't want to help you address the issues onsite unless the manager of that site has an issue. *Rude and non responsive office. *Operations managers and client managers are useless. (Their assistants do a better job than they do) *The guards are not the priority to management and the company. Very childish and hostile environment. *A lack of structure, communication and support.
