Pros
Amica has a good health care plan. Amica does reach out to the community Amica employee's do care about the customers and look out for each other, A good place for baby boomers and the silent generation to work.
Cons
There is no career path at the local level. You will need to move to a different state or home office in RI if you plan to move up. No benefit is offered to assist you with moving if you can even find an opening elsewhere. The managers are not trained well and lack people skills. Amica also invest little in technology. Agents are will doing many tasks manually such as issuing policies. Time off is a point of contingency for many. Employees are written up regularly for exceeding sick time (average 40 hours a year) even if that employee clearly has that time available. Amica is very "old school" with regard to policy and procedures. I would not recommend Generation X or Y will find it a very stifling place to work.
