Pros

- There's talent at Anker, with lots of hard-working young minds pushing hard to make a change. - The products are generally good, even demonstrating some of the "innovation" the company's name so haughtily brags about.

Cons

- This is a toxic place to work. Be ready to be a rank-and-file disposable trooper. The company loves to hire young, partly to they can rub their Midas palms together with glee as they underpay you, and also so they can treat you like trash and exploit your labor. - Management is a real mess. There are a few gems, yet the majority adhere to embracing the toxic culture. - Company has worrying HR policies. Used to publicly shame employees via company-wide emails for taking too much fruit during snack time. This sort of thing should be dealt with privately. - There's quite a lot of corruption, with people taking bribes from suppliers. - Everything's very disorganized. Many things have improved, but I doubt it. Expect projects to be a dumpster fire unless one of the few competent project managers takes charge. - Many employees work Saturdays and late into the night, meaning they have little to no social life. However, this practice is common in Shenzhen and Changsha thanks to the infinite wisdom of Jack Ma .

Pros

some coworkers - but they took our ability to talk freely with them away.

Cons

Really thought I'd enjoy this job since I enjoy the product, but a few months in I realized what was going on. Accountability doesn't exist within management. Facts are: you're overworked, penny raises if they are approved, and massive gaslighting from management. And not to mention new products come out monthly without your knowledge and there's no training on them. Every day is non-stop calls and escalations that you handle whether it's communicating to the engineers or playing manager in email. Lastly, PTO is denied more than approved, they won't hire to help the load even when outsourcing support it doesn't help the call volume, there's barely any support during calls, and you never know if you'll get the nice side of management or the nasty vengeful side when needing help or "you messed up" bc their system is from the 1900s. In all my years of working in support, I have never seen such a crap show before. Since being there, I have anxiety attacks and chronic headaches; not to mention stress-induced PTSD. Honestly, find another job that won't make you physically ill. Or mentally ill. Really this job causes both. Run. If you have health problems, they don't care. Bullying is a thing if they hate you and want you gone. Lying to your face is also a thing and make you the bad guy. Every day you'll work on eggshells and you'll NEVER advance within the company.
