Too dependent on Microsoft - Business Analyst Apex Performance Solutions Employee Review

Pros

Very nice co-workers and management, nice break room amenities (coffee, treats, soda). Laid back as long as you get your work done. Get to stay busy. Never really know what the next project will bring. Get to work from home if pre-approved, usually when sick but able to work, bad weather, need to get something done late at night, etc.

Cons

Small consulting company that does grunt work for Microsoft "and others". Very few people work for other companies, so as soon as Microsoft doesn't want you anymore and has no where else to put you - you are laid off.

Pros

Supportive management team for consultants. New roles found to retain employees when contracts ended provided continuity of employment.

Cons

Need ability to adapt to rapidly changing work.

Pros

Management genuinely cares about the employees. Pays for training courses for individual employees and holds morale events regular. Whenever a difficult project is finished, management buys everyone lunch. Promotions are done based on merits, experience and work history, and are as objective as it can be. Management is not afraid of hiring someone who lacks experience as long as they show signs of commitment.

Cons

Pays and benefit package may not be as good as some of its competitor. Other than that, I can't think of anything negative about Apex.
