Pros

Some people get to work on impactful projects that help push our customers to smaller node sizes N5, N3 etc. Very diverse group of coworkers from all over Asia, the Americas, Africa and Europe. I think this is mostly by accident because the semi world is very international People in Austin are generally nice.

Cons

Low pay which comes with low respect from the powers that be. Hierarchal work environment. Often you are assigned a project because some VP said so. This means you can waste your career on bad projects that never come to fruition. Low flexibility and no PTO. All time off is up to manager discretion. People in SCLA are generally not nice. Don't work for DDP formerly known as DSM.

Pros

This is a company with a great future and overall many smart and talented work colleagues.

Cons

There are pockets of poorly managed teams and the Global Sourcing and Procurement Team is one of them. Working for GSP was a soul crushing experience. On a regular basis, I witnessed and experienced mobbing, gaslighting, bullying, senior leaders retaliating and weaponizing the 360 feedback program for their own personal gain, senior leaders taking credit for other peoples work, long tenured leaders abusing their relationships within HR, regular staff crying and people admitting to seeking professional help due to the toxic work environment…ptsd in GSP is real. And to top it off, Applied’s most senior leadership have known of these issues for years.
