Good For Those That Prioritize Challenge and Independence - Service Professional Aptive Environmental Employee Review

Pros

The compensation is the standard for the industry and there is a waiting period for benefits. Your job is secure as long as you want it and you may get a minimal pay raise after a significant amount of time working there. Micromanagement is kept to a minimum and there is a lot of independence with this job. The culture is casual with a lot of camaraderie as well. The people that do well here place an importance on taking ownership of their work, being able to work outdoors, being social with people, and deeply identify with being a pest control technician.

Cons

Reason being that it's often a challenge to get through the day. Lots of stops scheduled on the route that require you to work from sunrise to sunset. This leads to a poor work-life balance where you are essentially living to only work. Many technicians get burnt out from this dilemma. The production expectations often overshadow the consideration for the technician. You are expected to be as productive as humanly possible and can easily be replaced.

Pros

Pay and overtime is great, management is decent, you run your own show- upsell, identify pest problems, know your chemicals, different methods, request inventory products

Cons

It's a lot of hours in summer. You will hate spiderwebs. I enjoy seeing many beautiful gardens and getting to know the local wasps, birds, and lizards- but it's not for everyone. Don't trust everything management says, and bring up issues early and with tact.
