Pros
-Flexible work culture (location and time) Work at your own pace as long as you get deliverables in and make it to meetings. - Good engineering learning presentations and communties from wide international portfolio. - High focus on team workload planning on paper/metrics - Little to no resistance on PTO requests - Immediately fully vested 401k match (4% to your 5%) - pretax commuter benefit for parking or transit
Cons
- No sick leave, just PTO and holidays Anecdote: Job description stated "Learn and use x,y,z software"; "Learn, design, and manage x" But when faced with scarce work opportunities, I was not allowed to use training code, was questioned why I was using the looking for work/overhead code. Even after networking for work and having to assemble and send an internal resume. Counter to job description. Then overloaded with 200-220hrs/160 monthly billable hours, Let boss know I was going to need help offloading, never got it after being told I would. Then PIP'd for burning out in pigeonholed type of work that was available because of office turnover.
