Pros

Management in the USA is quite good. They have a clear vision and a strong will to drive the company forward and make real progress.

Cons

IT was witnessed senior regional leadership spin a fake success story for US management — a complete façade built on cherry-picked data and manipulated narratives. The regional leadership-NONtechCM lacked real technical expertise but controlled everything through office politics and manipulation. Decision-making was centralized around one ego-driven individual who rewarded loyalty over competence. Anyone who disagreed or challenged this leadership was labeled “not fit” and gradually pushed out. Layoffs were used as an opportunity to remove capable, honest, high-performing employees who asked the right questions. This leadership believed US management could be easily fooled with slick language and relationships, while completely ignoring the harsh ground realities I witnessed firsthand. Promotions were handed out to unqualified people simply because they were part of the inner circle, not because they deserved it. Freshers and juniors routinely outranked and out-earned experienced seniors — a blatant insult to anyone with real skill or knowledge. The office culture rewarded tattling, gossip, and spying instead of teamwork, delivery, or professionalism. Senior team leads from the Ukrainian office raised multiple serious complaints about these employees, but the leadership ignored or actively dismissed these concerns and instead promoted them. Complaints filed through official channels were deliberately ignored if they involved favored employees — protection was absolute. If you weren’t part of the inner circle, your career was deliberately blocked, and you were treated like an enemy. Rampant nepotism meant friends and family got hired regardless of their fit, skill, or experience. Raises, appraisals, onsite visits, and other perks were handed out as favors, often despite underperformance. Knowledge sharing, mentorship, and technical development had vanished — real talent was neither valued nor nurtured. Employees were terrified to speak up, having seen how whistleblowers were crushed and sidelined by senior leadership. The company had been laying off employees for three years straight, with zero warning, causing massive anxiety and destroying any sense of loyalty. Most of those who survived received either no raise or a pitiful 1-2% increment during this time, mostly juniors. The regional leadership in India was chaotic, visionless, and entirely focused on protecting their own interests and personal comfort. While Astound looked stable and successful from the outside, internally the India office was rapidly deteriorating. Without urgent and drastic intervention, the India office was headed for complete disaster. This line best describes Astound India — A Toxic Kingdom Built on Lies and Nepotism.
