Pros

Straightforward work, okay colleagues, standard call centre job.

Cons

Power-tripping managers that act & feel like they own the company. Often they have worked for Aus Post for a while, which I think gives them a skewed perspective to how a workplace should look. It's one of those environments where they preach openness, friendliness, and care... but in reality that's all delusional management that can't simply say hello or ask how your day was and genuinely mean it, let alone support your success in the role. Team meetings & one-on-ones go nowhere, and you're only allowed to speak up if it fits is with what they want to hear. Don't you dare question anything, or give an opinion, that's a big no no. Most of the obvious changes that need to be implemented get done... it just takes two or so years, and often a lawsuit or media piece from customers. Don't you dare wrap up & put yourself on any sort of break 1 minute before you finish - you'll get yelled out. Doesn't matter if you have a child to pick up from school, or any other reason whatsoever. You answer phones until AFTER your finish time and get rewarded with an early finish the next day when you don't need it. I mean, fair enough, most of the time. But they treat this rule as do-or-die. You will be yelled at, and again, the lack of humanity or basic human decency/understanding stops these managers from understanding how ridiculous this is. In fact, if one is reading this, they probably think I'm the problem haha. So yeah, don't finish 1 minute early, or else... Uhm there's a lot more. Don't expect a lot. But hey, it pays okay for a contact centre job when you're young, or between jobs and searching for something better. Don't end up here as a lifer and become one of them is my advice. Nice office layout, ping pong table, 45 minute breaks. It's not all bad, we're blessed to be in Australia. Just put up with unhappy fake managers and you'll be fine.
