Lower pay compared to the rest of the industry, shares scheme hasn't been available for 3 years now so the benefits are low. The only way to get a pay rise is to move around the business which means no one / no team gets any experts and the business suffers. Also, if you're not based in a "strategic" workplace, your hopes for moving around the business are limited so your options for a pay rise are limited as well. The area I work in is completely dysfunctional and and there are too many "old boys club" members who don't want to accept modern best practices or methodologies. There is also too much infighting between different BT divisions which is detrimental to the business and the customer.
