Pros
I was always able to modify my schedule as long as I gave two weeks notice or more. The managers were in most instances excellent and the workload is distributed evenly. The job is not stressful and coincided very well with my time in college. The store managers are autonomous and do not need continuous updates from corporate to complete their jobs. The employees are not paid on commission so there is a teamwork atmosphere which inspires long standing employees to teach new employees about the most effective ways to accomplish the job.
Cons
The pay is not excellent, but it adequately reflects the freedom given in determining the hours you desire to work, and the amount of work required. The hours are sparse, so working two jobs or working specifically to gain extra income is suggested. Formal training is sufficient to complete the required job, but does not give much insight into the specific products which you are required to sell. Employee discounts are not much better than those the customer receives, and are not adjusted regionally to account for tax differences.
