Pros

Great community, very good pay, contributing to your local area is great, good simple work, not confusing, amazing outreach to disadvantage citizens.

Cons

It's outdoors so you better like being in ALL OF the ELEMENTS! Hot, cold, sunny, rainy or snowy, you will be working in all the elements. It has a high focus on "Grunt" work so it's much more janitorial and dirty, including bodily fluids and other dangerous elements. Sometimes unsheltered folks are aggressive and abusive and can be very dangerous and will even expose themselves sometimes. So you must be ready for those elements. This job is not for everyone since their is a focus on hiring folks who may have been formerly homeless and many of the folks come from backgrounds with major addiction problems, unforetueatly some people have a problem working with folks with that type of background but I can say these folks were amazing and majorly touching, you will likely cry at least once a week because you are touched by an interaction with this group or the community around them.
