Cons
Most of the managers are managers not because they're good at being managers, but because they've been there the longest. Anyone who had been there for years was allowed to control the narrative to suit them: controlling the hierarchy and making sure that no-one new threatened their power or inner friendship group. Anyone below manager or senior roles are basically treated as minions with no say, and personalities are seen as risky. There's a double standard whereby women treat their male colleagues with total freedom and yet they treat other women badly, observing them as to whether they 'fit in' or not, most of which is decided in mundane conversations in the canteen, payback for their memories of school lunches. It's toxic, not because it's fashion, because it's unrelentingly corporate run by uncreative people with very little life experience outside of its walls, excited at being the big dogs within its walls.
