Pros

They pay you (some) money

Cons

Management Incompetent, unprofessional, no idea how to motivate their staff. Seem opposed to the idea that keeping staff relatively happy would encourage them to work harder. If you enjoy being patronised and talked down to on a daily basis, this job is for you. Newsroom supervision was particularly demoralising, soul destroying and unprofessional - all newsroom staff were hired off the back of their intelligence yet treated like they had none. Do not work here if you have a degree and enjoy using your brain. I have two, and could not last even a year being spoken to like a child. I agree with the below reviews that state that staff were congratulated on finding another job rather than being encouraged to stay. Benefits There are literally none - have to pay for milk tea and coffee absolutely ridiculous. A budget of ten pounds per head for the Christmas party which noone even bothers to attend - shows the blatant disregard and lack of respect they have for their staff. As stated by another commenter, editors in the newsroom were not encouraged to talk, the atmosphere in the room was determined by one person in particular and was extremely oppressive and bleak more often than not. Social occasions were limited to people's leaving drinks, which were actually regular occurrences due to high turnover of demoralised and disgruntled staff. Advice Do not work here if you want to be respected and get ahead in your career. If you are clever, ambitious and driven working at business wire London will make you doubt all of the above. It will take you months to re programme your brain when you leave to actually use it again, and to get used to being treated like an adult at your next job. Do not work here if you value your sanity.

Pros

Remote work is always a pro.

Cons

It’s the most toxic and abusive place I’ve ever seen. People are expendable and fired faster than they’re hired. Newcomers who want to make a difference are quickly demoralized because leadership is not supportive. They will blame you for failing but fire everyone possessing the skills needed to succeed. If you’re not fired you’ll likely quit because of anxiety, stress, and/or depression. It’s truly nightmare. I don’t understand how Berkshire Hathaway hasn’t stepped in yet.
