Pros
I have learned an enormous amount about insurance, admin work, programs (including Excel) while working at this company. They encourage employees to continue their education, grow in their positions and make their job a career. I've had to take initiative, but the company has covered the cost for several seminars and training courses when asked. The management is fair and tough. I have worked for very difficult people in the past and find upper management to be very reasonable (never yelling) and respectful but also expects employees to have a sense of pride and motivation in their work (which I also appreciate in co-workers). The staff is also very diverse and friendly. The benefits package is great if you don't have dependents (company pays for 80% of medical but employee pays full cost for dependents). The company also offers raffles of tickets on occasion, as well as several employee events in December. I also love that I am able to do my job, and leave it at work so that I can enjoy my time at home with family without having to work extreme hours.
Cons
The HR department has switched hands a few times in the past couple of years, which has been a little confusing. Sometimes the departments feel a little segregated - I wish there was more of a sense of community between all staff.
